Last night my date and I went to the Pioneer Day Commemoration Concert at the LDS Conference Center. For those of you that don't already know the 24th of July is pioneer day here in Utah. The concert was a celebration of the pioneers through music.
When we got to the concert it was quite noisy with so many people talking all at once. All of a sudden it gets really quiet and everyone stands. It took me just a moment to realize that President Thomas S. Monson, our prophet, and President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, the 2nd counselor, were entering the conference center and taking their seats to watch the program. We all waited until they were seated before we sat down. Then the conference center was filled with noise once again. It was amazing to see how we were all alike in our faith and to see the respect and love we have for these great men that lead our church.
The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra performed along with Osmond Family. It was neat seeing the Osmonds up on stage. Donny still has the moves. I mostly recognized just the songs that Donny and Marie sang being that I am too young to have listened to the Osmond brothers. Donny and Marie have quite a sense of humor and teased each other up on stage. The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra were quite amazing as well. They are a very talented and dedicated group of people. For the most part it was a very nice evening.

One of the perks living in Utah I guess. I'm so bummed I missed the broadcast! I love Donny and Marie.
